Cake:

  • 400g granulated sugar
  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 85g cocoa powder
  • 6g baking powder
  • 2g baking soda
  • 5g salt
  • 177ml vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 10ml pure vanilla extract
  • 237ml buttermilk, room temperature
  • 237ml hot brewed coffee

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper and spray with baking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In the Kitchen in the box Stand Mixer, stir in vegetable oil until dry ingredients are well coated, then add eggs and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in buttermilk until combined, then carefully pour in hot coffee and stir until smooth.
